Partnering with the Equinox Group, Dole asked us to come up with a way to show viewers how they can make a smoothie at home with their new Shaker product. We thought, what a better way to spread the word about the ease and great taste, than with a good ole fashioned taste test. But not just any taste test. One that our tasters would never forget. Pulling from Dole’s commercial campaign, we placed A Dole representative right in the middle of the freezer section of a grocery store, and caught unknowing shoppers off guard as they passed by. Then with a smile on their face, we brought in the goods and gave them a sample for their reaction. What transpired was a lot of fun, and a ton of great shots of kids and their parents sipping and believing.
COMMERCIAL CONCEPT COMES TO LIFE IN A GROCERY STORE
One of the criteria for our video production was to gain some useful data for Dole on how well their product worked for first time users. Not only were we conducting a taste test, we were seeing how Dole’s instruction to “Add juice, shake, and enjoy” would play out.
Showing kids using the Shakers product was part of our designed criteria. Luckily, our supermarket was full of kids on the day of shooting and we were able to deliver extra video content focused on parents who are tired of blending smoothies.
